South Carolina’s Harley Owners Group has announced that North Myrtle Beach will be its destination for its annual fall rally this October. The rally will include a poker run, bike shows and bike games, a scavenger hunt and other HG-centric events.
The fall rally, titled, “Homecoming on the North End,” which should attract more than 1,000 Harley Davidson owners and enthusiasts, will be the group’s first return to the Grand Strand area in 11 years. Talking about the decision to go to North Myrtle Beach instead of Myrtle Beach, SC HOG organizer Gina Gossenreiter said, “We are very excited to come back to the coast. North Myrtle Beach is a family beach. It holds a lot of memories for all of us. It’s a homecoming.”
The businesses of North Myrtle Beach are also looking forward to the event, since it is estimated that the rally will bring about half a million dollars to the city. Unfortunately we probably won’t see an uptick in Myrtle Beach auto loans, given that this influx will be two-wheeled, not four.
In addition to its yearly fall rally, the S.C. HOG also holds a much larger spring rally each May.
